ABOUT GURU GYANDIL
Guru Gyandil Das was a respected ascetic, spiritual reformer and literary figure who dedicated his life to spreading Sanatan Dharma beyond caste divisions and ritualistic barriers. Born in eastern Nepal as Krishna Lamichaney, he later became a prominent spiritual teacher whose influence extended across Nepal and the Himalayan belt of India.
His teachings emphasised simplicity, equality, devotion and the importance of Guru guidance in spiritual life.
The sacred Samadhi of Guru Gyandil Das located within the Dham continues to inspire devotees and seekers.
ABOUT JOSHMANI TRADITION
The Joshmani tradition is rooted in Advaita philosophy and the Guru–Shishya lineage, combining Shaivite spiritual practices with accessible pathways for ordinary people seeking liberation. For nearly two centuries, this tradition flourished across Nepal and North India, guiding communities through spiritual teachings, meditation practices and ethical living. Today, Guru Gyandil Dham serves as an important centre for preserving and revitalising this heritage.
